Christmas Cards 2011

Being I believe everyone has already received my Christmas cards this year, I'm going to post to my blog early.  I actually made two cards this year; one for the adults and another for the kids.

The first card (for the adults) is made using the Winter Woodland (deer), Create a Critter (tree), Paper Dolls for Everyday (snow hill), and Joys of the Season (snow flakes) cricut cartridges.  I couldn't find any regular holographic paper in the stores, so I used some gift boxes I had to make the cuts.  I found some snowflake ribbon which matched perfectly to the winter snow feeling I was going for.  To finish it off, I cut up some cotton balls and glued at the bottom of the trees to give it the snow pile affect and then glittered the mini snowflakes punched on the bottom of the card.

The second card (for the kids) is made using the 'A Child's Year' cartridge.  It was an easy card as it only required a couple of cuts.  The picture doesn't do it justice as the paper behind the santa/child is little dots that sparkle with glitter.  I just added the little poinsettia flowers with a few rhinestones and the Ho Ho Ho ribbon and it was complete.

Happy Holidays!!

Thanksgiving 2011

I'm a little behind in posting my cards for both Halloween and Thanksgiving this year.  But as they say, "better late than never."  This little turkey was so much fun to make and the kids enjoyed him.  I cut the card shape using the Wild Card cartridge.  The turkey is from the Create a Critter cartridge.  I placed the turkey on an Action Wobble and added him some Googly Eyes.  A little button on his hat and a couple of Gooble Goobles and he was done and so cute!!

Halloween 2011

This is the Halloween card I made for my family and friends this year.  It combines the use of many materials to include the Happy Hauntings embossing folder for the Haunted House in the background, cuts from the Happy Hauntings Cricut cartridge (ghost, witch, and black cat on the fence), as well as a couple of the Martha Stewart punches.  The outside edge of the card was punched using the spider MS punch and then I added a little MS black glitter.

Tyler's Birthday Card

This is a cute little card I made in September for my nephew's (Tyler) 7th birthday.  I saw this image of Mickey & Pluto and immediately thought of Tyler and had to have the Mickey and Friends cartridge.  I used my Gypsy to weld the 'Stamp' image from the Create a Critter cartridge for the card base.  I also made the envelope using the Martha Stewart Score Board.

Fran & Ron's Anniversary Card

Here's an anniversary card I made in September for my good friend Frannie and her hubby, Ronald.  I really enjoyed making this card for them as they both are very special to me.

If Friends Were Flowers...

I wanted to do a few special cards for my friends that are dear to my heart.  I had seen something similar on another blog (flowerdiscosscraphut); so decided to use the wording "If Friends Were Flowers, I'd Pick You!' and put my spin on it.  My mom called me yesterday crying telling me this meant the world to her and it was perfect timing.

I used the little pom pom girl from the Cricut Decals cartridge on page 63.  I clipped off the pom pom and added my own silk flower embellishing with Martha Stewart Glitter (Fire Opal, Lapis, and Kunzite) along with little skittles.  I embossed the background using the Scrollwork Cuttlebug folder.

Thanks for taking a look.

Mom & Dad's Anniversary Card

I love this anniversary card I made for my parents.  I really wasn't sure what the final outcome would be.  I picked a few images from the Sweethearts cartridge and ended up with a double layered card.  The inside of the first layer has Happy Anniversary cut and glittered.  I also used my first Action Wobble on the larger heart with the couple image.

Daddy's Birthday Card

This is the birthday card I made for my dad.  He loves the old classic cars and I thought this image from the Nifty Fifties cartridge was perfect.  I used glitter paper so it would appear like it has a metallic paint job.

Hospitality Thanks

Here's a 'Thanks for your Hospitality' card I made for my parents that I visited a couple of weeks back in NC.  I'd been trying for months/weeks to get away from work to spend some quality time with them and it finally worked out even though the time flew by.  I really liked the final outcome of the card right down to the little kitty cats out front.

Mother's Day 2011

Here's the card I just finished for my wonderful Mother.  I enjoyed making this card and the final outcome.  Used my Gypsy to weld two squares together to form the card base and then welded the word Mother on top.  I was going through my ribbon box and found this ribbon with 'BFF' on it and said that's perfect as she is my Best Friend Forever!  I love her very, very much.

Birthday Card for my Mom

This is a card I just made for my mother's birthday which is next week.  I'm so happy with the way it came out.  I think it's one of the prettiest cards I've made thus far.  I used several different shades of purple which I wasn't sure about to start with.  The extra sparkle on the flower is from the new Martha Stewart glitter kit I received a few weeks back from a set they sold on HSN.

Happy Birthday Mama!!

Easter Cards 2011

It's been awhile since I've had time to make any cards, but this is my official Easter 2011 card that I created.  I had been pondering for weeks to come up with a design and then finally Sunday evening this popped in my mind.  I used a lot of pop dots (maybe to many) for dimension.  I just love the googly eye and cotton tail on each bunny.

Wedding Anniversary Card

This is a wedding anniversary card I made for my aunt & uncle who will be celebrating 44 years of marriage next week.  I used the Martha Stewart Loops Around the Page punches, Bell is cut from the 'Tie the Knot' cartridge, Cuttlebug Organic Flourish border embossing folder, and lots of bling.  I hope they love it.  Happy Anniversary.

Grandfather's Bday Card

91 years young!!  Here's a card I made for my step-grandfather.  He enjoys his days watching his TV shows (talk shows, soaps, etc), so thought he'd enjoy being the star on his big day appearing on the tube.

Just Fluttering By...

Here's a butterfly card I made for my dear friend, my angel (Frannie), last weekend.  I held off posting as I didn't want her to see it before receiving in the mail.

With Sympathy

This is a special card I made over the weekend for a co-worker who just loss her mother.  This type of card is definitely not the most fun to make, but I think she will cherish it.

Wedding Anniversary Card

Here's a card I recently made for my aunt & uncle to celebrate their wedding anniversary back in January 2011.

Bra Card for my Great Aunt

Here is a 'bra' card that I made for my great aunt who just found out she has breast cancer.  I wanted to make something to cheer her up and let her know I was there for support.  She called me yesterday to tell me she loved it!
